Miracles of the Lord Jesus

It is a few days before the Feast of Tabernacles. In Galilee, which lies in the northern part of Palestine, the people are getting ready to travel to Judæa. They want to celebrate this joyous feast in Jerusalem. There they will make tents on the streets and even on the roofs of the houses. Using the foliage of trees, the people will build huts everywhere as a reminder of the journey through the wilderness. They are not allowed to forget what
their forefathers experienced, for the Lord Himself instituted the Feast of Tabernacles. At that time, the people will also bring sacrifices to the temple. Many Jews believe that when the last day of the feast comes, then… Oh, then perhaps the Messiah will come.
Soon, only a small number of people remain behind in the villages and cities, for most of the inhabitants join the long line of travellers who make their way southward, to Jerusalem. The Lord Jesus, however, does not go along…
