Parables of the Lord Jesus
Many people are sitting on the hills close to the Sea of Galilee. They are listening to a Man, Who is telling them about God. This Man is the Lord Jesus. He is the Son of God, Who came into this earth to convert sinful people to God. Hundreds of people listen to the Lord Jesus as He teaches them the Gospel. Not everyone wants to do what the Lord says, however. That is why the Lord Jesus tells the people a story. It is a story about two men who are going to build a house, but who do so in very different ways. One man is a wise builder and the other man is a foolish builder.
The first builder takes a shovel and begins to dig in the sandy ground. He is careful and does not dare to begin building on the loose sand. He seeks a firm foundation. Sometimes he strikes something hard, but when he digs a little deeper, he sees it is only a loose stone. He keeps on digging until he cannot go any farther. Deep in the ground he has found a large rock. He is going to build his house on top of this rock…
